Team Of 2016

The team of A25UK in 2016 consisted of 6 radio operators M0TGV- Giles, G4FAL – Nick, GM0WED – ED, G0VJG – Nobby and G4LDL – Tony.

We managed to make over 20,000 QSO’s in the 6 days we were in Botswana. Modes we operated were RTTY, CW and SSB.

Modes

M0TGV – Giles

I am the youngest member of the group and have participated in numerous contests. As this is only my forth year of being licensed, I am still relatively new to the hobby but I was fortunate enough to be on the team who went to St Kilda last year. I can only be found on the voice section of the band as my CW is still a work in progress. I am also a member of Cray Valley Radio Society, M8C & M6T contest team and CDXC.

G4FAL – Nick

Nick G4FAL has been licensed since he was at school in 1974, but really got back into amateur radio when his own children were teenagers. He is very keen on CW contesting and also chasing illusive DX stations. He has operated from 7Q, VP2M, V4 and T32. Nick lives in the second highest house in the City of Sheffield, in South Yorkshire, and spends his time repairing aerials that are regularly damaged by high winds.

G0VJG – Nobby

I like ssb dxing dxperditions iota contesting experimenting with home brew antennas . He also enjoy sea fishing. I am 50 and married to Maxine who is very radio tolerant love her x. I have also operated from T32C record breaking station 10 world records . Also active as 3a/g0vjg hi3/g0vjg s79vjg 8q7cq vp2mad ta/g0vjg j6/g0vjg v25v I contest for cray valley radio society as M8C and gj3rcv. I am also a member of rsgb 73 Nobby see u in the pile ups G0VJG.

G4LDL / G4L – Tony

Tony, G4LDL/G4L – main interest is contesting and whilst not an out and out cw op can manage cw (keyboard) for contesting and DXing when needed, otherwise it’s SSB. Was one of the power (mains) gurus at T32C and has done previous radio trips to Swaziland (3DA0TB) & Mozambique (C91WW).

Licensed 1994. Preferences: family, CW, gardening, PSK63, red wine, RTTY, beer, SSB–in that order. Member: Three As CG, GMDX, UKEICC, OARC,, Friend of Verulum ARC. Member ill-fated DX0DX DXpedition. Interests contesting and rag chewing, museums and lighthouse weekends, RAYNET.
